The Institut für Gesundheit und Ergonomie (Institute for Health and Ergonomics; IGR) has awarded LUCTRA® the
‘Ergonomic Product’ seal of quality. By this, the IGR gives confirmation that LUCTRA®’s table and floor lights have
a positive effect on health, well-being and performance in the workplace.
Visual ergonomics promote well-being and performance
Ergonomic workplaces play an increasingly important role in today’s working world. At shared workstations, different users must be able to adjust the table height, sitting position and monitor position to their liking. Acoustic systems are installed to absorb high levels of noise, and improved ventilation and air conditioning systems to support better air quality. However, lighting – also an essential aspect of workplace ergonomics – often does not receive its due attention.
An ideal office lighting solution adjusts the lighting conditions to the biorhythm of the user and illuminates the workplace in the best possible way without dazzling. The light of the LUCTRA® luminaires centres around people’s needs. It simulates natural daylight and
thus provides significant impulses to support a robust internal clock. The light can be adjusted to individual requirements (e.g. through variable light colour and brightness) and thus supports both highperformance and rest periods. As a result, the user works more effectively and feels more comfortable.
Standard-compliant lighting
In addition to personal perception of the quality of workplace lighting, there are a number of statutory regulations. Here, flexible office concepts present the greatest challenge. Both the DIN EN 12464-1 and the ASR 3.4 standards lay down the requirements for an office workplace. The LUCTRA® workplace lights meet these
requirements by far. In contrast to the required 500 lux, they provide a luminance intensity of 800 lux on the work surface, thereby ensuring pleasant lighting conditions even for demanding visual tasks. At the same time, the high-quality LEDs offer high energysaving potential.
Seal of quality as a decision-making aid
The IGR supports companies and authorities in designing humane working environments, whether in administration, production or mobile situations. To this end, the Nuremberg-based Institute evaluates work equipment, devices and installations in terms of functionality and practical feasibility. The seal of quality serves both investors and end users as a guide and decision-making aid for ergonomic products.
Abour LUCTRA®:
LUCTRA® is the brand for good working light in the office or at home. For this purpose, the table, floor and mobile
lamps included in the range provide light which not only illuminates, but also makes people happy, more efficient
and simultaneously less tired. This works, because it transmits the right impulses for every situation.
To this end, the professional, biologically effective LED lamp system utilizes the latest scientific findings about the
effect of light on human beings. It follows the principle of Human Centric Lighting, for short HCL, by focusing on
human beings with their personal lighting needs for healthier and more efficient working and living. LUCTRA® light
can almost perfectly simulate natural daylight and thus supports the user’s personal inner clock.
LUCTRA® has already received numerous renowned design prizes such as the German Design Award and was
brought to market in 2015 by the long-established company DURABLE Hunke & Jochheim GmbH & Co. KG. This
company has been dedicated to professional work for almost a century: to its organisation, its processes and its
equipment. DURABLE currently employs 700 workers worldwide and has its Head Office in Iserlohn/Germany. All
LUCTRA® lamps are assembled manually by the expert staff of the LUCTRA® production plant in Kamen (North
Rhine-Westphalia, Germany).
